Working block-printing units in Bagru and Sanganer that actually supply Jaipur's textile trade take visitors only through an introduction from someone the family already trusts. There's no walk-in tour desk for the real production floor.

Buying a 'certified' gemstone in Johari Bazaar from whichever shop offers on-the-spot lab paperwork. The certificate often comes from a lab with no independent standing, and a local knows which labs the traders themselves actually use.
When, and why it matters
Wedding season, roughly October to February, fills Rajasthani havelis and palace hotels with baraat parties booked months out, and pushes jewellery and textile workshops into bulk-order backlog. A local knows which weeks those workshops still have room to show anyone through.
